Mirror Covers & Glass: buying notes

If a mirror has been clipped but still adjusts, a new glass or cover costs a fraction of a whole unit. Glass comes on a backing plate that clips to the motor, and heated glass has two terminals on the back.

  • Heated or unheated glass
  • Cover with or without an indicator opening
  • Black, chrome or paint-ready finish
  • Left or right hand side

Fitting notes

Some covers need painting to match. A mirror with an indicator in the cover uses a differently shaped cover from one without.

Which side is which: on vehicles delivered new in Australia, the right hand side is the driver’s side and the left hand side is the passenger side.
