Upper Control Arms: buying notes

Double wishbone front ends, used on most utes and 4WDs and some European cars, have an upper control arm with its own ball joint and bushes. Worn upper arms bring clunks and uneven tyre wear.

• Left or right hand side
• Ball joint fitted or not
• Series and build range
• Wheel alignment afterwards

Fitting notes

Check whether the ball joint comes fitted, match the side and series, and finish with a wheel alignment.

Which side is which: on vehicles delivered new in Australia, the right hand side is the driver’s side and the left hand side is the passenger side.
